WARNING: Do Not Use "&" In Messages

The ampersand "&" sign can cause your messages to stall and your entire mobile Broadcast or Bounce service to collapse. We have discovered a glitch in the way the &-sign is interpreted in XML files that we use in your mobile system.

SOLUTION: Use the word "and" or the letter "N" instead of the ampersand.

TELL YOUR ADVERTISING CLIENTS: If just one of your advertisers uses the &-sign, it can cause your entire system to go down, affecting ALL your other clients. Therefore, it is important that you inform them of this issue.

Preferred Way To Display Short Code Numbers
As instructed by our Shortcode providers, we will start adopting this new way of displaying shortcode numbers: Every time you display your shortcode number, whether in a printed headline or as part of a running text, you must display the short code number in parenthesis AFTER its equivalent DOT... Internet Extension.

Examples:
Text ABC XYZ To DOTCOM (368266)
Text ABC XYZ To DOTNET (368638)
Text ABC XYZ To DOTORG (368674)

This strategy makes DOTCOM, DOTNET and DOTORG a "brand" of shortcode, making them easy to remember! Can you recall any shortcode number you might have seen on TV or other advertisements? Probably not. That's because most shortcodes are just numbers and they seldom spell anything significant. That's where the shortcode you're using has a distinct advantage: they spell out the equivalent extension of your domain name (opt-in code).

Our goal is promote your shortcode numbers as the MOBILE equivalent of the Internet's dotcom, dotnet, dotorg system. Collectively, we all can help raise public awareness to a point where - in the future - people will no longer have to remember the numbers themselves. You can just tell people to "text the words ABC XYZ to DOTCOM" and people would know what to do!

So, make sure to display your shortcode number this way - ALWAYS! Furthermore, tell your customers that they should do the same. When the general public finally catches up with all these shortcode business, YOU will have the BEST and the EASIEST shortcodes to remember!!
